THINGS TO COME...

The Annual Laurelwood Neighborhood Association meeting will be held  Saturday, February 11 from 10 AM - 12:01PM at Susie Rayos Marmon Elementary School.  All meetings are open to the public.  We will be electing Board members.  Please consider serving your neighborhood - get involved. We will also have guest speakers from the City of Albuquerque and APD Northwest Command Station.

NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION  PATROLS  TO  BEGIN

LNA residents will begin Neighborhood Association Patrols. Volunteers will be doing random vehicle patrols .... they'll be clearly marked with "LNA Neighborhood Patrol " on both sides of the vehicle, and a small amber strobe on top. Volunteers have attended APD Training class, and will be patrolling in pairs. The APD program is a winner, and it's another step forward for our Neighborhood Association, and another benefit to residents here.

If you'd like to volunteer for patrols, attend the next board meeting for details, check out the Crime Prevention Committee info link or call the Association ... 321-1761. It's our neighborhood, our homes and families, so we encourage you to join in.

ALWAYS call 242 COPS when you observe anything unusual or vandalism in progress. The park should be closed, via 10pm curfew, so anyone there after that time should be alerted to city reg/park closure  Below's an excerpt from the Crime Prevention Info page. It covers the Nuisance Abatement Process initiated with our prior city administration, and continuing on now. Please note contacts, the broad schema, and the contact phone. We hope you'll keep eyes and ears on the park and your neighborhoods.   Thanks to  Board member David Colon for keeping an eye on the park already .... it's our community, and your vigilance and interest goes a long way toward keeping it a safe place.  Since signs were posted  saying " Park Under Surveillance," we have noticed aignificant decline in vandalism and loitering at the Park.

Residents always know who's a regular and who's not, what's routine and what's a "radar blip"    OBSERVE and REPORT.

Thanks      LNA
